Adult Ministries

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

As 1 Peter 4:10 states service to others is a part of being a Christian. Here at Pilgrim Covenant Church we have many opportunities for you to fulfill that service and serve those in your church family, the community, and the family of Christ.

Here are brief descriptions of our ministries:

Worship and Music – working closely with the Pastor, this ministry is responsible for preparations for all worship services: regular Sunday services, special services, and any other gatherings of the congregation for worship.

Evangelism and Invitation – charged with communicating the Good News of the Gospel and the Ministry of Pilgrim Covenant Church to the community, preparing friends for membership, and assisting other ministries in evangelism.

Hospitality – this ministry is responsible for planning and implementing fellowship opportunities for the entire church family. When needed they arrange for meals to be delivered to our church family that may be homebound.

Adult Care and Education – this ministry is responsible for the needs of adults in our congregation in terms of education, shepherding, discipleship and visitation.

Missions and Outreach – this ministry coordinates outreach and mission efforts to those in need outside our church family through various local, national, and worldwide missions.

Children – this ministry will organize the education and care of children ages infant to sixth grade. This includes the Sunday School program, Vacation Bible School and various activities through out the year.

Youth – this ministry is responsible for the educational, spiritual and social activities for youth in the 7th through 12th grades. They will work closely with the Youth Pastor.

Properties – this group of hard workers oversee the maintenance of our church building, parsonage, and church grounds. They sponsor two workdays a year (spring and fall) and arrange for projects to be done through out the year.

Stewardship and Finance – responsible for the financial stability of the church through organizing stewardship efforts, both financial and gift-related, preparing the annual budget along with the Church Treasurer and overseeing the activities of the Church Treasurer.

Many other service opportunities exist that are not official ministries: newsletter reporter, library assistant, office helper, lay reader, usher, coffee set-up and clean-up, choir member, bell-choir member, guest musician, house-band member or assist with the Jackson Hall Concert series.
