Presence in Our Lives

“What a coincidence!” “Wow, what are the odds of that happening?” “I just couldn’t believe it!”

Familiar words. After the chance encounter, the surprising favor, the out-of-the-blue phone call, we say them without thinking, and then quickly move on to the next appointment or chore demanding attention. But what if we stopped for a closer look? What would we see? This was the idea behind God is Alive!: to study our own true-life stories of uncanny events, unexpected blessings, and miraculous comfort in times of pain.

Before long, we had collected scores of beyond-coincidence stories from our everyday lives. Laying them end to end, we noticed common threads: new hope and healing, uplifted spirits, and peace that passes understanding. Hope…healing…peace: God’s promises kept, and unmistakable evidence of His concern and gentle hand in every part of our lives, from momentous occasions to seemingly insignificant ones.

We hope our stories inspire you to take a closer look at the next “coincidence” in your life and feel God’s unmistakable love.
